I’m Tracy-Ann D. Thorpe, the creator behind Good Jinx. Before Good Jinx became an archive, an experience, and a growing creative world, it was a magazine, a photography studio, and an idea I chose to make real.

Good Jinx is a Gallery of Original Dreams. Just Imagine New eXperiences. It began with the belief that luck is not something we wait for. We take a chance, make the work, and build the evidence of our own creativity.

The beginning

It started as a magazine.

Good Jinx came to be in the middle of a pandemic. While so much was going wrong, creativity kept finding ways to make something right. People were discovering new ways to live, love, learn, and create. That was the environment in which Good Jinx was born.

I began by interviewing creatives and publishing their work. I designed the magazine, created the covers, photographed people, built sets, opened Good Jinx Photography Studio, and made a physical publication that people could hold. The archive exists because the work existed.

Good Jinx stands for taking a chance at life. Luck is a mindset, but action is the practice. Be relentless in chasing your dreams because no one will chase them for you.
